We love and welcome you exactly as you are.

Christmas Worship Opportunities

Blue Christmas: A Sanctuary of Hope in Difficult Times

We invite you to our Blue Christmas service  on December 18th at 7:30 pm. Come and join us in this moment of mutual support and hope.

Christmas is a time of joy and celebration for many, but for others, it can be a period of sadness and loneliness. Recognizing this reality, the concept of "Blue Christmas" was created, a special service designed to offer comfort and hope to those facing loss, pain, or difficulties during the holiday season.

During the service, an inviting atmosphere is created with dim lighting and a serene ambiance that encourages reflection. Biblical readings and prayers offer comfort and hope. Soft music sets a calm tone, and attendees are invited to light candles in memory of their loved ones or as a symbol of their own prayers and wishes.

Las Posadas: A Christmas Tradition of Faith and Community

Our Posada will be held on December 22nd at 4:00pm in our church. You are invited, bring your friends and something to share.

Posadas are a Christmas tradition celebrated in many Latin American countries, especially in Mexico. This holiday takes place the week before Christmas Eve, symbolizing the journey of Mary and Joseph from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of a place to stay.

The event culminates with a celebration that includes prayers, songs, piñatas, and traditional foods, such as tamales and punch. Las Posadas are an opportunity to strengthen the community, share the faith and remember the true meaning of Christmas: the birth of Jesus.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service

On Tuesday, December 24th, at 8:00pm we will hold a Candlelight Communion service, in both Spanish and English.

The Candlelight Service is one of the most poignant and symbolic traditions of the holiday season. Typically held on Christmas Eve, this service invites participants to reflect on the arrival of Jesus, the light of the world, while candles are lit symbolizing hope, peace, and love.

During the service, attendees light candles in a serene and reverent atmosphere, creating an atmosphere of peace and contemplation. Bible readings and Christmas hymns accompany this leap of faith, reminding us of the birth of Jesus and his deep meaning in our lives.

The lighting of the candles symbolizes the light of Christ that dispels darkness, bringing hope and renewal to all. By sharing the flame from one candle to another, it reflects the communion and unity among the participants, who together celebrate the message of Christmas.

A Celebration & Carols Service

Worship will be at Cornelius UMC

On Sunday, December 29 at 10:00am Cornelius UMC will be hosting a joint Service with Cornelius UMC, Forest Grove UMC and Hillsboro UMC. This service will be a time of singing Christmas carols and reading scripture.

It has been a tradition at Hillsboro UMC to sing favorite Christmas carols the Sunday following Christmas. This year we will celebrate with our brothers and sisters at Forest Grove and Cornelius UMC’s. The Cornelius church has graciously offered to host our carol sing.

Following worship we will enjoy fellowship time together.
